When you use SnapText, we may collect the following information:
Device Information: Basic device information such as device type, operating system version, and device identifiers for app compatibility, analytics, and advertising purposes.
Scanned Documents & Extracted Text: All documents you scan and text extracted via OCR are stored locally on your device. We do not upload or store your documents or extracted text on our servers.
Camera Access: We access your camera only when you initiate a document scan. Photos are processed locally and are not transmitted to external servers.
Photo Library Access: When you import images, we access only the files you specifically select.
Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage analytics through Firebase Analytics and Amplitude to improve the app experience. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
Crash Data: We collect crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics, including crash logs, device info, and OS version, to identify and fix issues.
Advertising Data: Google AdMob may collect ad identifiers and device information to serve relevant advertisements.
Purchase Data: RevenueCat processes your in-app purchase and subscription data to manage your purchases and subscription status.
We use your information to:
• Provide and maintain the app's scanning and OCR functionality
• Process text recognition on your device using Google ML Kit
• Enable document organization, editing, and export features
• Improve our services and user experience through analytics
• Display advertisements via Google AdMob
• Process in-app purchases and subscriptions via RevenueCat
• Identify and fix crashes and technical issues
• Respond to your support requests
We do NOT:
• Upload your scanned documents or extracted text to any server
• Sell your personal documents or content to third parties
• Use your documents for advertising purposes
• Share your document content without your consent
• Store your documents on our servers
Local Storage: All your scanned documents, extracted text, and organized folders are stored securely on your device using a local SQLite database and file storage. We do not have access to these files.
OCR Processing: Text recognition is performed entirely on your device using Google ML Kit. Your documents are never sent to external servers for OCR processing.
Passcode Protection: You can protect your documents with a passcode. This passcode is stored locally on your device.
Export Options: When you export documents as TXT, PDF or DOCX, the files are saved locally or shared through your device's sharing features.
Network Usage: Internet access is used only for analytics (Firebase Analytics, Amplitude), crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics), advertising (Google AdMob), and in-app purchase verification (RevenueCat). Your documents and extracted text are never transmitted over the network.
You have the right to:
Full Control: All your documents and extracted text stay on your device. You have complete control over your content.
Delete: Delete any scanned document, extracted text, or folder at any time through the app.
Export: Export your documents and text in TXT, PDF, or DOCX format at any time.
Permissions: You can revoke camera and photo library permissions at any time through your device settings.
Ad Preferences: You can manage your ad preferences and opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings.
Analytics Opt-Out: You can limit analytics data collection through your device's privacy settings.
SnapText integrates with the following third-party services:
• Firebase Analytics: Anonymous app usage events and screen views (Google Privacy Policy applies)
• Firebase Crashlytics: Crash logs, device info, and OS version for stability improvements (Google Privacy Policy applies)
• Amplitude: Anonymous usage events for product analytics (Amplitude Privacy Policy applies)
• Google AdMob: Ad identifiers and device information for serving advertisements (Google Privacy Policy applies)
• RevenueCat: Purchase history and subscription status for managing in-app purchases (RevenueCat Privacy Policy applies)
• Google ML Kit: On-device OCR text recognition — runs entirely on your device with no data sent to servers
• App Store / Play Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases (their respective policies apply)
We do not share your documents or extracted text with any third party. Third-party services only receive anonymous analytics, crash data, ad identifiers, or purchase information as described above.
SnapText is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
